Yet another great introduction scene from Sridevi. This is the first scene in the movie as well and you get the feeling who will be dominating the movie for the next three hours. Sri played the character of Sheetal Jetley to perfection. Everything from look of a businesswoman to voice modulation. And who can ever forget her catchphrase, “Understand? you better understand”
In Hollywood and specifically Meryl Streep’s introduction scene in the Devil Wears Prada has always reminded us of this scene. However Meryl’s scene was more comic while Sri’s is more serious. Yet both played their characters to extreme perfection and they looked totally in character with their look and body language.
In this scene, we see Sheetal Angry because Raju has taken her car. We love the way Sridevi did this scene. Her facial expression shows hate and anger. Such an amazing performance by the empress.
