Speculation about Sridevi’s comeback are now over. It’s now certain that she will star in the sequel to the 1987 hit Mr India. If all goes well, Anurag Basu will direct Boney Kapoor’s Mr India 2. Manmohan Shetty, co-producer of Mr India 2 confirmed this and said, “Anil and Sridevi should be there in the film. We have met Anurag and asked him to direct Mr India 2. A final decision will be taken on December 11.”
Anurag said, “Let’s see what happens. But yes, I am in advanced talks to direct Mr India 2.” Initially, Shekhar was asked to direct the sequel but he turned down the offer and had said, “I’m involved with Mr India 2 in the creative advisory capacity. I don’t want to direct it.” Buzz is Mr India 2 will have two couples. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will play the older couple while the filmmakers are looking for actors who will play the younger couple.
